DD8 just ordered 1st AG

HI,

Well, dd finally saved enough money to buy Felicity all on her own. This is the 1st AG she has ever bought, but her second girl. Kit arrived at Christmas. She has been saving since Christmas (w/ a pretty big head start with Birthday/holiday $ [img]wink.gif[/img] ). We made her wait until allowance day (Friday) to get that last $1. She ordered Felicity at 7:30 a.m. We are making an album starting with her receiving that much anticipated last dollar, ordering the doll (w/ a little help from mom...can't turn an 8 year old loose w/ a credit card on the AG site! [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]confused.gif[/img] ) and are anxiously awaiting the big brown truck arriving Wednesday (that's according to their schedule online). She is tracking the progress on a map & Lissie has traveled from Wisconsin to Ill. & has departed to ???. We'll see when they update the tracking again. She say's Kit is going to help her open the box & will have to share her closet space & bed too. Hmmm [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img] ...Kit might not be too excited about this.

How sweet is that? My daughter saved for her first doll, Samantha, when she was six. We had much the same scenerio going on at our house. It's a very fond memory for all of us.

Wow, that is special! I remember my first AG purchase (I am 26 now) but when I was only 9 my mom showed me the first AG catalogue and prefaced it by saying something like, "now honey we can't afford to buy one of these dolls for you, they are very expensive, but I want to show them to you anyway, because they are so unique". From that day on I became determined to save and buy Molly for myself. It took me nearly a year and on my 10th birthday I orders Molly, her accessories, and her lunch for myself. That began the AG craze and I began receiving AG dolls for Christmas and buying them for myself through saving. (Mom and Dad couldn't afford to give me more than the doll, so for Christmas I got the doll and like 1 or 2 other things and that was it, but I will treasure Molly for the rest of my life, knowing how hard I saved to make her mine!

Congrats to your DD! She too will treasure Felicity for the rest of her life!
